Weather Worlds Fair : Workshop Experience
One-day workshop on Interaction between climate change and culture
In order to re-examine our understanding of climate change and its impact,
the SVA interaction class held a one-day workshop at the Queens Museum.
Our goal was to design a workshop experience that will allow the participants
to explore ways in which they can culturally adjust to the climate change.
WHERE:QUEENS MUSEUM, NY
WHEN : DEC 3, 2017
ROLE:IDENTITY, PRODUCTION, GAME DESIGN

Identity /
Considering museum’s target audience who are mostly young kids and their families,
the symbols that were designed are simple and straightforward with vivid colors.
Each symbol represents three climate change circumstances: Drought, Snowstorm and Flood
Programming /
Three Routes help audience to explore the programs and find a connection between the workshop
and ongoing museum exhibitions.

Floor is Cracked! /
Cross the floor from one end to the other by only stepping on items that you need in order to survive!
This game was inspired by hopscotch. Through this fun game, kids could learn and think about the drought.

Spatial Experience Design /
Visitors learn about climate-change related terms by playing with blocks.
Game Design /
Participants were asked to pick a word and then explain it by drawing on a transparent film.
Overlapping different drawings created new pieces of collaborative work.
